Devikulangara Grama Panchayat Annual Plan (2026–27)
1. Housing and Social Security
The largest share of the Panchayat’s annual plan allocation has been earmarked for the LIFE Housing Mission. The plan includes housing construction, housing renovation, toilet construction, and land purchase schemes. Approximately ₹3.34 crore has been allocated exclusively for LIFE housing construction.
The plan also includes:
- Distribution of beds for senior citizens.
- Assistance for extremely poor families.
- Women and child welfare programs.
This demonstrates the Panchayat’s commitment to improving living conditions and supporting vulnerable sections of society.
2. Women and Child Development
Several projects have been included to enhance the welfare of women and children:
- Construction of Anganwadi buildings in Wards 2, 7, and 14.
- Provision of drinking water facilities in Anganwadis.
- Nutrition programs for adolescent girls.
- Distribution of uniforms to ASHA workers and Haritha Karma Sena members.
These initiatives reflect the Panchayat’s objective of improving the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of women and children.
3. Health Sector
Numerous projects have been proposed for the development of the Family Health Centre (FHC), Ayurveda Hospital, and health sub-centres.
Major Projects
- Establishment of Health & Wellness Centres.
- Procurement of medical equipment for health institutions.
- Improvement of diagnostic facilities.
- Purchase of laptops for hospitals and health institutions.
These initiatives can be viewed as efforts to enhance the quality and accessibility of primary healthcare services.
4. Environmental Protection and Sanitation
The annual plan includes several initiatives aimed at environmental conservation and waste management:
- Biodiversity conservation programs.
- Haritha Mithram and Haritha Karma Sena activities.
- Installation of bottle booths.
- Placement of plastic waste collection bins.
- Water conservation initiatives.
These projects indicate the Panchayat’s strong emphasis on sustainable development and environmental protection.
5. Infrastructure Development
A significant number of projects have been allocated for the construction and renovation of:
- Roads
- Drainage systems
- Culverts
- Concrete slabs
- Streetlights
Ward-based projects include road concreting, drainage construction, and maintenance of street lighting systems, aimed at improving public infrastructure and connectivity.
6. Drinking Water and Sanitation
The plan includes several measures to strengthen basic service delivery:
- Summer drinking water supply schemes.
- Maintenance and repair of public water taps.
- Safe drinking water conservation projects.
- Sanitation and cleanliness initiatives.
These projects are intended to ensure reliable access to drinking water and improved public hygiene.
